The Atelier des publics is involved in various cultural action, research and transmission projects that address, through the prism of art, the major issues of our contemporary societies. These projects are developed in collaboration with partners from various professional backgrounds (justice, education, science, urban planning, etc.) and can take place over long periods of time outside the walls of the art centre, reaching out to audiences who are far from the cultural offer.

The Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER), Artconnexion, the association CAP Vers la Nature and Passerelle Centre d'art contemporain have joined forces to design and coordinate the Initium Maris - Civis project. This is the educational aspect of Initium Maris, an artistic expedition led by Nicolas Floc'h, in dialogue with scientific teams and citizens. This expedition seeks to represent the Breton underwater landscape in the face of global change and to raise public awareness of visible and invisible biodiversity.

Culture / Justice

In partnership with the Ligue de l'Enseignement du Finistère, the Protection Judiciaire de la Jeunesse (Services Territoriaux Éducatifs de Milieu Ouvert) and the Maison d'arrêt de Brest as part of the Culture/Justice scheme supported by the Ministère de la Culture / DRAC Bretagne

La fenêtre

Since 2014, Passerelle Centre d'art contemporain has been participating in the Culture - Justice programme, supported by the Ministry of Culture / DRAC Bretagne to develop artistic and cultural projects in prisons. The participants (adults and minors, men and women) follow an initiation to art through the use of different mediums (painting, sculpture, video, silk-screening, graphic design, drawing,...) for several days.

These actions make it possible to keep the link to art, creation and expression in detention.  The issue is to think of culture as an essential element in the reintegration process of people placed under justice
